Very compact perennial, more dwarf than any other variety on the market. Height 40cm high by 40cm wide. |

FLOWERING: |
Elite Dark Blue will flower in Spring but the best flowering period is during Autumn. Elite Dark Blue holds its flowers during flowering on short stems where other varieties in trials had longer stems that fell over with the weight of the flowers, this variety held it's flowers strongly above the foliage. The flowers are a deep, strong blue. During trials this was the strongest dark blue colour. |
USES: |
Aster Elite easily out perform any other varieties on the market and in our trials flowered for more than twice as long as any other varieties, while remaining compact and not getting "leggy". They are perfect for perennial borders and under planting of standard plants where they will stay squat and colourful. |
CARE: |
Use hedge shears or secateurs to prune hard after flowering, you will notice new shoots coming from ground level, prune to these and this will quickly encourage a bushier plant and repeat flower. Prune hard to ground level over Winter. They will perform better and flower more profusely with average garden watering and a fertilize every season with an all-purpose organic fertilizer. Keep an eye out for powdery mildew in the Autumn which is easily controlled with a spray of Mancozeb. |
